Bouley is an one Michelin-starred restaurant locating in the TriBeCa of New York. I visited when I went with my family back in May. A fine dining lunch has become a family tradition whenever we reunite. As there are quite a lot of michelin-starred restaurants in New York, you might wonder why I chose Bouley?
Milos, located in the heart of mile end (in between Ave. St-Viateur and Ave. Fairmount W. on Ave. du Parc), and it has been in Montreal’s culinary scene for more than 30 years. Moreover, it is the one and only restaurant that my mom asks to visit over and over again when she’s in Montreal. Don’t get scared by the $$$$ when you see it on restaurant review websites, because their lunch deal is definitely a steal!
L’Express, a French classic locating on rue St-Denis, has been in Montreal’s food scene since 1980, and still standing strong. I’ve heard and read a lot of reviews about it since Freshmen year, and finally had the chance to visit with my parents! On a rainy night, I made the reservation very last minute, and was glad that they still have tables available at our preferred time! We were greeted warmly by the staffs, who are all dressed in black and white, as soon as we walked in. The food and service were impeccable. It’s one of the restaurants that my mom asked, “why didn’t you bring us here when your brother was here last time?”
Most of the people in Montreal, who are interested in the food industries, probably have heard of the famous Chuck Hughes. Le Bremner is his second restaurant, locating in the Old Montreal. I booked a table here as a celebration for my graduation when my parents and brother came to visit this summer (and of course.. parents paid, right? cough cough). I was glad that it definitely lived up the hype!
Without a flashy sign, Restaurant Mercuri is situated in a red brick building that was built in 1911, which was the former McClary Manufacturing Company. Locating on the corner of rue Wellington and rue des Soeurs-Grises in Old Montreal, Restaurant Mercuri is the rising star of the neighborhood.
Not sure how reliable the ranking is, but Europea is recently ranked as the second best fine dining restaurants around the world on TripAdvisor. I’ve heard good reviews from friends about it, but never thought it’s THAT good to make it to top of the world. I was thrilled to find out that they are opened for lunch, and the tasting menu is offered at a very affordable price compared to its dinner. Without any hesitations, my friend and I booked a table, and ready to see if it lives up the hype!
